Enterovirus D68Parents, Due to the outbreak of this virus in nearby states in our region of the country I want to connect you to the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) for related informaiton concering this virus. According to the MSDH, "entervirus infections are usually seen more in the summer and fall, with newborns through teenagers being most likely to get infected and become sick. Infants and people with weakened immune systems have a greater chance of complications." Since the symtoms of this virus and other dangerous respirtory viruses such as RSV begin much like a common cold please help us keep our childcare safe... ........We're all settled in nowIt is August 27, 2014 and I am happy to report we are all settled in for a great 2014- 2015 program year. Everyone at CLC has worked tirelessly to comfort and love your children as they have adjusted to new rooms, new teachers, and new routines. Most of our friends have adjusted quite well, without any tears or fears, leaving only a few that have needed a little more reassurance. Speech and Hearing TestingThe University of Mississippi will be conduct a hearing and speech evaluation for our four year olds. Your child's teacher has sent home the forms for you to complete if you are interested in having your child tested. Kindergarten Readiness Transition Meeting:Kindergarten Readiness Transition Meeting: A meeting for parents of 4 year olds turning 5 years old, will be held on February 25, 2014. The meeting will be held at First Baptist Church from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Principals from Bramlett and Lafayette Elementary as well as Oxford University School and Regents will present information about going to kindergarten. Love Offering for DenniaAs you know one of our teachers, Dennia Logan, was involved in a car accident last week and will be out of work for an extended period of time. She is scheduled for surgery on her broken elbow Wednesday, December 11th. So many of you know and love Dennia and I thank you so much for all your concern. Pray for DenniaOn her way to work this morning, Dennia Logan, our three year old teacher hit a slick spot on the road, lost control and flipped her car into the trees on old Hwy 7. She has a broken elbow, ribs and a bruised lung. They are monitoring her in ICU at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The conidition of the car is awful. We are so thankful Dennia is stable and other than time to heal she should make a full recovery. Please remember Dennia in your prayers.
