 Toddler Room

Hello, my name is Cindy Warren.   I am 43 years old and I have worked for CLC since August 2012.  I moved away for about a year and half in 2015 but I was thrilled to be able to come back to my job upon my return to Mississippi. When I am not at work, I am busy creating something. I am usually working on something for my class.  Relaxing to me means I am likely sewing or painting.  I also love music; sometimes I bring my guitar to class and sing along with my friends. My husband and I own Deep South Leather. We travel to about 20 shows a year.  We offer personalized belts and other leather accessories.  We make a good team.  He sales and I personalize the belts using stamps and a mallet.

Working with toddlers is amazing.  I love when they start to form sentences and have conversations with me and their friends. Recently, Maggie said she saw Jesus. I asked her if He was in the room and she said, “Yes.”  I asked her if He thinks I have been good, and she just shrugged her shoulders. Ha Ha!  I promise I have been good.  My friends are so smart, you can almost see the “aha” moment in their eyes when they learn or say something new. I cheer for my class when they learn new things.  They make me very proud.   The favorite part of our day is circle time when we sing and read books.  Our favorite songs are Herman the Worm and Baby Shark.  They are fun to watch when trying to do the hand motions from baby shark to Daddy shark. We love lots of books but our favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear.  Our class is happiest after naptime. Everyone is well rested and wants to play, hopefully outside. It’s been a cold and rainy winter.  When we go outside our class likes to slide down the slide and drive the trucks.  We are ready for the sunshine. At lunchtime our favorite meal is chicken nuggets and KETCHUP.    I have a great class and my parents are awesome too!  I enjoy teaching and giving them lots of fun experiences.  Today, we all dressed as farmers and made homemade pizza.

I enjoy my job at CLC.  I love to teach young minds. Teaching gives my life a deeper purpose, and I know I am making a difference.  My kids have my heart, which is the hard part of my job. I miss them when we are apart and when they move to the next class.

My advice to a new teacher is to have patience, and on the hard days, be like a duck’s back and let it roll of your back.  My favorite bible verse Philippians 4:13- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”   This verse reminds me without Christ I am nothing.  My favorite quote is from Mary Poppins, “In every job that must be done there is an element of fun.”

A few things on my bucket list are

·       Go to Europe

·       Go on a Mission Trip

·       Have a child
